The first half of the 2026 Election Cycle is now behind us. Now we're into the main event.
As of the end of January, I've raised 3.7x as much for Democrats as I had at the same point 4 years ago...and 2.2x as much as I had at this point 2 years ago!
In January 2026 specifically, I raised 16% more than January 2022 but 20% less than January 2024; this is the first month this cycle which has fallen behind a 2024 cycle month, although you have to keep in mind that 2024 was a POTUS cycle; I knew it would happen sooner or later.
In terms of category breakout, so far this cycle I've raised:
- U.S. Senate: $45,372 (7.5%)
- U.S. House: $132,684 (21.9%)
- State Legislative: $304,754 (50.3%)
- State Executives*: $26,586 (4.4%)
- Courts: $42,406 (7.0%)
- State Dem Parties: $50,615 (8.4%)
- Local/Other: $3,043 (0.5%)
*NOTE: State Executives includes Governors, Lt. Governors, Attorneys General & Secretaries of State as well as other state executive office such as Treasurers, Auditors, Comptrollers, Public Service Commissioners, School Boards, etc.
As expected, dropping off substantially after the November 2025 general election, things are starting to ramp up again now that we're into the actual Midterm Year itself.

As for social media engagement, Bluesky generated 7.4x as much traffic and 4.4x as much in actual donations as Twitter on a per follower basis in January.
